Album tracks:

After all the fireworks part 1

When you've sucked the last tablet and licked the foil dry, what's next for the rest of your whole life?

Take it easy, Owen Meanie

You might not be as bad as you think you are!

The Ballad of Sharon and Tracey

Not all angels have wings. Walking home under a Spring shower you pass Sharon and Tracey, turning tricks on the street corner. Fluttering round passing cars like moths to a naked flame, but they'll never fly away. To break the cycle, or postpone the horrors of their next trick you exchange casual pleasantries. Their faces warm up briefly before a quizzical look takes over: What do you want from us? Nothing, you mouth. Its not a request they've heard before.

Anaesthetise Me

Darling, always!

Waiting for the test

Jesus! How did it come to this? But things will change, I’ll be good- I’ll even make a deal with a God I don’t believe in if he gets me out of this.

...And with the Fading of the light

Winter: the light is fading fast. Night, black like tar, bookends eight long hours under artificial light and all thoughts of summer, of 1990, are suffocated by the darkness. Walking home, wet-footed and hollow eyed, your skin yearns to be bathed in sunlight. Instead, another shower and the scenery dissolves into endless lines of fairy light car bumpers and Chinese lantern street lamps

How the north of England saved my life

It did, and it might save yours.

This is London

We are all wide-eyed immigrants, awash with overpriced booze, swaying on the Millennium bridge whilst the irresistible spectacle of the capital looms around us. If London were Ken Livingstone's sitcom, This is London would be its theme tune. As the credits roll, Ken and Tony embrace in bed, dreaming that - from penthouse to pavement - anything can happen and probably will.

After the fireworks part 2

We've only just met and in all probability this will be as good as it gets.

You'll see I'm right

I spend my whole life trying to help you

Whatever Love Means

Although aquainted with widows throwing themselves on funeral pyres, nothing could've prepared him for emigrating during Diana's funeral. He's been uneasy since then, never knowing when the thin tissue over hysteria will once again tear open.It did. And it might save yours.

Sleep well tonight...angels guard you

Stormy Autumn nights in the district general: not the most tranquil place to shuffle off this mortal coil. But we've got enough opiates to blur the boundaries between here and Valhalla, thank god. If you listen carefully in this place, smudged grey by death and decay, you'll hear a siren's song, a lullaby for the waxwork dummies of the deceased and the gatekeepers lying awake taking in the horror of it all.
